5 economic activities

The first economic activitiy is primary.

Primary is  farming, mining, hunting,(and gathering), timber, fishing, aquaculture. They're living is mostly on land or water. Most in periphery make their living this way. Most primary products are raw materials for next phase. These products need more editing/processing. They make little money.

The next economic activity is SECONDARY. They convert raw materials into intermidaite or finished products. An example is bauxite ore to sheet metal to a skin for a jet. They earn much more money the the primary. The core is semi periphery mostly.

The third economic activity is TERTIARY. Tertiary are service sectors or service industries. they connect producers to the consumers. Most mall and downtown businesses are tertiary. These services dont make anything. Walmart doesn't make anything, teachers, lawers, etc. don't make anything. They get paid more the secondary.

The fourth econmic activity is quaternary. it is information processing - info age- high text xolection , recording, arranging, storage, retrieval, exchange, and dissemination or information . Govt, culture, libraries, scientific research, education.

The fifth econmic activity is QUINARY . Quinary specializeshigh tech info. Its the top executives of highest levels of decision- making in govt, science universities, non profit.

1st Agriculrural Revolution

The 1st agricultural revolution is root plants. It  first cultivated in S and SE Asia 12,000 years ago. It started off with small population explosion, outmigration, diffusion of farm techniques , foragers absorbed. Some things they did were plant demestication and animal demestication. Some things they did were ;

  • Animal demostication training them to be calm animals. Cattle domesticated for religious purposes at first.

  • SUBSISTENCE FARMING
growing of enough food to survive. Usually do not own land, may move often

  • SHIFTING CULTIVATION

nutrients leached out, crops won’t grow anymore - so they move to another area
AKA- slash and burn, milpa, patch agriculture, swidden - mostly the use of fire
    not as wasteful and destructive

HOW DID IT CHANGE PEOPLES LIVE?

Humans began to cultivate crops and domesticate certain animals.  This was a change from the system of hunting and gathering that had sustained humans from earliest times. As a result, permanent settlements were established.

Second Agriculture revolution

The Second Agricultural Revolution  was around 17th and 18th centuary. It occured with the Industrial Revoultion. A lot of things changed from the 1st agricultural revolution,  we got  farming revolutionized better
tools,  and learned fertilization, harvesting, storage, and  distribution. Some new  technologies such as the seed drill enabled farmers to avoid wasting seeds and to easily plant in rows, making it simpler to distinguish weeds from crops. Another thing invented that was important for this revolution was the train. Trains helped transport large amounts of farm produce from farms to cities. There were new farming techniques such as a greater use of fertilizers to help increase yields. With all that happening a farmer could grow enough to feed more people. This meant that it was possible for more people to move to the cities to work in the factories. This revolution made peoples lives more easier and increased the population.

3rd Agricultural Revolution

The 3rd agricultural revolution was started during the late 19th and 20th century, and we're still living in it today. We got a lot of new things like the green revolution. The
green revolution  saved much of world from malthusian famine. Its still in progress. We also have new high-yield crops, techniques, and genetic engineering but not what G.R was

  • drip irrigation and other techniques

  • race of food production vs population

Some of the disadvanteges to this were social/gender problems because mostly Mexican men worked at farms. Other issues we had were economic issues ,political, and environmental.

Other important stuff to this revolution were : truck farming and market gardening.

Truck farming was really important because it helped the farmers ship out stuff and recieve stuff easier. Market gardening was  cultivation, on suburban land of high value, of vegetables and flowers for the supply of nearby cities.

commercial agricultural
modern commercial ag has its roots in colonialism

Commercial Agricultural is to grow and produce any agricultural related products for the sale purpose on the basis of experience & with the help of new technology to make profit called commercial Agriculture.

What is Vertical intergration?

Vertical intergration is the combination in one company of two or more stages of production normally operated by separate companies.A vertically-integrated firm assures itself of steady access to critical materials, quality manufacturing procedures and dependable distribution outlets.

A real world example of vertical interigration is the company Apple. It essentially 4 companies in one.

  1. It has a Hardware company ; designs own hardware

  2. It has a software company ; its own, devolps and optimizes its software

  3. It has Service company ; equips the products with services like Icloud and Itunes

  4. It also has a retail company ;l provides consumers with a unique retail experience
